You will be supporting new satellite mechanisms early in the production phase, providing critical design for manufacturability input and supporting testing of these assemblies, while developing and implementing the plan to move from design/test into build/production.Key Job ResponsibilitiesDesign space hardware production processes and production linesExperience with equipment design, procurement, installation, and qualificationWork with supply chain partners to manage critical vendorsMaterial flow planning and manufacturing process definition with minimal existing definitionAbility to support space hardware testing, including tooling design and data analysisAssembly, Integration, and Test takt time & cost optimization planningDesign for Manufacturability review and sign off for design releaseA day in the life – This role will require a thorough understanding of fabrication processes, system design, and mechanical system assembly and test processes. You will own test campaigns to validate manufacturing processes for robustness, yield, and reliability scenarios. Transitioning into a production environment,



you will strive to produce assemblies for the lowest possible cost and highest possible quality. This will include root causing problems that occur for the assembly to keep builds on schedule while also working on efficiency gains through tooling, automation, or design and process changes.About the team – This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll work with leaders in multiple technology areas. We want individuals who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond what is possible today.Basic Qualifications4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experienceExperience with prototyping and implementationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field3+ years of implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts experience3+ years of experience developing and building space mechanical assemblies (or 5+ years of experience with space hardware build and development or 7+ years of experience in design and manufacturing)3+ years of experience in development and implementation of operations control documentation processes.1+ years of experience planning and driving process development campaignsPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis toolsExperience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volumeExperience carrying design concepts through exploration, development,

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
