Vestas Development is a business unit within Vestas Wind Systems that is responsible for developing wind farms globally. This position will be focused in Italy under Vestas Development Europe Region.
Responsibilities
Supervising the preparation and reviewing of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports, feasibility studies, environmental Due Diligence for wind farm projects.
Working closely with company's technical departments (construction, transport, siting, electrical, sustainability) and managing subcontractors to ensure environmental constraints and requirements are respected during project development.
Perform site visits at project sites for the preliminary identification of potential environmental criticalities to be managed during the development phase.
Review Scope of Works for the execution of Environmental surveys and monitoring to be carried out from third parties consultants.
Manage permitting procedures of the projects under development (i.e. for Italy: Environmental Impact Assessment procedures, Single Authorization, PAUR..etc)
and active monitoring of the regulatory framework evolution.
Manage public consultation with stakeholders and meeting with Authorities during the permitting phase.
Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant environmental or scientific discipline (i.e. Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology..etc). Experience in Wind Projects.
3-7 years of experience in the delivery of EIAs and the consenting process in Italy.
Management of the coordination between specialists of the several environmental disciplines (noise, landscape, birds and bats, archaeology...etc)
Familiarity with international best practices of EIA Regulations (and ESIA when applicable).
Knowledge of geographic information systems (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS) is required.
