Senior Fire Engineer – Milan, Italy
Based in our office located in the city centre of Milan, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of challenging mission‐critical projects.
Responsibilities Lead the design and delivery of the fire strategy of technically demanding projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and the fire statutory sub‐consultant.
Lead the fire protection systems design in coordination with internal and external teams.
Act as project lead managing the service and interfacing directly with clients' teams.
Lead the development of calculations related to fire safety studies, from simplified calculations to modelling with advanced CFD, FEM or people‐movement modelling.
Review and audit fire safety work in buildings and existing infrastructures.
Manage execution of the fire engineering statutory roles from sub‐consultants.
Assist in developing our Fire Engineering business by attending client meetings, producing bid documentation and other business development activities, and take responsibility for management and development of colleagues.
Actively share knowledge across the team to deliver the highest quality of service to our clients.
Chartered Engineer status with a proven track record in mission‐critical facilities projects.
BS in Architectural, Mechanical Engineering, Building Engineering or similar studies.
Master's Degree in Fire Safety Engineering or similar.
Previous experience in fire safety and/or fire protection engineering.
High level of English and Italian (C1).
Knowledge of fire safety standards – BS, NFPA, FM Global and Italian fire codes.
Knowledge of the following software packages is beneficial:
Building Information Modelling (BIM) – Revit
Hydraulic calculations – Namirial
CFD modelling tools – FDS / Ansys
People movement modelling tools – MassMotion / Legion / Conqueror
Structural modelling tools – Safir / LS‐Dyna
