As a Technical Lead at NXP, you will drive the development of low-level IP firmware and device drivers for MCU platforms, bridging HW and SW across pre- and post-silicon stages.
You'll collaborate with central SW teams and the HW team to maximize reuse, ensure HW compatibility, and deliver robust SDK-enabled drivers.
You'll lead architecture, standards, and validation efforts to release world-class, scalable firmware.

Lead development of low-level IP firmware and device drivers for MCU platforms with emphasis on quality and reusability
Define and enforce software architecture methodologies and reusable APIs across programs
Architect and deliver IP firmware/driver solutions covering RTL verification, virtual simulation, SoC verification, post-silicon validation, and SDK integration
Align HAL/SDK development with IP interface requirements across pre-silicon and post-silicon teams
Collaborate with HW, SW architects and SOC designers to start firmware in parallel with hardware development
Review hardware register definitions to improve usability and maintainability of software
Maintain backward-compatible software interfaces as hardware IP evolves
Create frameworks for consistent, scalable driver implementations
Define enablement strategies for drivers alongside hardware IP for SDK integration
Support simulation, emulation, and silicon validation environments to ensure robust API behavior
Enforce quality practices: design/code reviews, static analysis, coding standards
Produce technical documentation and presentations for stakeholders
Use Git, JIRA, and Confluence to drive execution and traceability
Mentor junior to mid-level engineers and improve firmware development workflows
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
15+ years of architecture and/or firmware development for MCUs/MPUs
Deep MCU/MPU SW architecture expertise, including RTL bring-up, driver design, and platform integration
Experience with RTL simulation and emulation; understanding of SOC construction and verification environments
Ability to lead by influence across cross-functional teams
Experience leveraging AI to accelerate software development and documentation
Proficiency with ARM subsystems, tools, and debugging
Experience with embedded RTOS and compilers
Strong low-level software testing and debugging for MCUs/MPUs
Ability to work in multi-site, multi-time-zone environments
Proficiency in C/C++, Assembly, and at least one scripting language
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Prior technical leadership experience is highly desirable
