About Kirby Group Engineering Kirby Group Engineering is an international multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor and leading provider of high-value engineering services to a number of âblue chipâ companies. Our culture is innovative, collaborative and performance focused. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop in a company committed to developing talent and rewarding performance. Site Logistics Supervisor â Milan Data Centre Project Some construction roles are vague. This isnât one of them. If you like keeping chaos at bay, knowing exactly where everything is going, and making sure 50 different subcontractors donât all try to deliver at 9:00am on Tuesday âbecause thatâs when they always deliverâ â keep reading. Weâre building a major data centre in Milan. Big project, tight footprint, lots of moving parts. We need a Site Logistics Manager who can keep the whole thing flowing without the place turning into a car park with cranes. This isnât just about organising storage space (though youâll do plenty of that).
Itâs about being the nerve centre of site movement â materials, deliveries, vertical transport, access, security, the whole lot. If you enjoy orchestrating a site so well that people think youâve got psychic powers, youâll fit right in. What Youâll Actually Be Doing (Not the fluffy version â the real version.)
- Mapping, defining, and controlling all onâsite and nearâsite storage areas.
- Deciding who gets what storage space, based on project priorities â not who shouts the loudest.
- Running the webâbased delivery booking system like a small but efficient airport.
- Making sure deliveries only happen when thereâs somewhere to put the stuff.
- Working closely with subcontractors and security so deliveries arrive when they should, not when they feel like it.
- Creating and enforcing a callâoff system that keeps everything flowing and doesnât block access routes.
- Keeping track of vertical transportation plant capacity so cranes and hoists donât sit idle while materials sit in the wrong place.
- Helping run the weekly delivery coordination meeting â and owning every action item that comes out of it.
- Acting as the link between security at the perimeter and the controlled chaos inside the hoarding line.
- Coordinating with the Appointed Person/Crane Coordinator to keep lifts smooth and efficient.
- Handling accommodation and vehicle requirements for site employees â leases, trackers, troubleshooting, the works.
In short:
Youâll be the person who knows whatâs coming, when itâs coming, how itâs getting in, where itâs going, whoâs moving it, and what happens next. What Youâll Need To Bring
- Experience managing logistics on a live construction site (data centre experience a bonus).
- A tolerance for complexity â and an intolerance for disorganisation.
- Strong communication skills (some might call this âtelling people noâ politely).
- The ability to think three steps ahead because everything on this site affects everything else.
- A mindset that treats logistics as the circulatory system of a project â not an afterthought.
What Youâll Get
- The chance to run logistics for a flagship hyperscale data centre in one of Europeâs most dynamic tech hubs.
- A team that actually understands why logistics matters.
- A project leadership group that wants someone who runs a system, not someone who waits for instructions.
- And yes, competitive salary, accommodation support, and the usual bigâproject benefits.
If This Sounds Like You⌠Apply. We donât need a 5-page cover letter. Just enough to show you know how modern construction logistics works and that youâre the kind of person subcontractors wonât want to cross.
