Abbott Core Diagnostics is hiring Software Engineers (Full‑Stack or Front-End) to join its team in Milan.
About the role
As an Informatics Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing next-generation software solutions for diagnostic products. You will work across the full software lifecycle — from requirements definition to development, testing, and post‑launch support.
This is an opportunity to contribute to complex, high-impact systems, working on both user-facing applications and robust backend services within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Key responsibilities
Analyze user and business needs and translate them into technical solutions
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure applications
Contribute to software architecture and system design
Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, and other R&D; stakeholders.
Ensure proper documentation throughout the software development lifecycle
Support released products and continuous improvements
Work in compliance with quality and regulatory standards
Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to quality
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Proactive, ownership-oriented approach with a focus on anticipating future capability needs, fostering talent development, and promoting continuous professional growth
Ability to evaluate technical and business trade‑offs, assess risks and opportunities, and make sound decisions
