Position

Data Engineer Junior – Microsoft Fabric, Milano.

Team and Scope

The resource will be part of the Data Platform & Analytics team, a multidisciplinary team that supports clients in designing, managing, and implementing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence solutions on the Microsoft platform, with particular focus on Microsoft Fabric.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop Data & Analytics solutions on Microsoft Fabric for national and international clients at medium/large scale.
- Create data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Data Factory, Dataflow Gen2, and Notebook Spark (PySpark).
- Work on Lakehouse and Warehouse architecture on Microsoft Fabric, applying Medallion Architecture (bronze, silver, gold).
- Develop semantic models and datasets to support Power BI reporting.
- Collaborate with Senior Data Engineers, Analysts, and Project Managers in analysis, design, development, testing, and release of solutions.
- Learn and apply best practices in data governance, security, and data quality.
- Grow through a structured path of training and certification on the Microsoft Data Platform ecosystem.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Approximately 2 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration and/or Business Intelligence.
- Strong knowledge of the SQL language.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT.
- Interest or experience in the Microsoft Data Platform ecosystem (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, SQL Server).
- Team player, excellent communication skills, and strong problem‑solving attitude.
- Degree (bachelor or master) in engineering, computer science,



mathematics or other scientific disciplines.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with Python, Spark or notebook analytics is a plus.
- Knowledge of Power BI is a plus.

Core Requirements

- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational database concepts.
- Comprehensive understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts.
- Motivation to learn and specialize in Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience, also academic, with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI or Azure Data Platform.
- Basic knowledge of Python, PySpark or scripting languages for data transformation.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and version control (Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub).
- Basic knowledge of M language, DAX and data modeling techniques for Power BI.
- Introductory Microsoft certifications (e.g., DP‑900, PL‑300, DP‑600, DP‑700).
