Experteer Overview
In this role you will design, develop, and optimize the Linux-based software stack for Arduino-based embedded devices. You will work closely with hardware engineers to bring up boards and ensure robust, secure, and performant software. You’ll shape BSPs, drivers, and user-space apps across the product lifecycle, contributing to a mission-driven, innovative hardware platform. This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role with an opportunity to influence both software and hardware integration across multiple platforms.

- Design, develop, and optimize Linux kernel modules, device drivers, and user-space apps for embedded hardware
- Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) for new and existing hardware platforms, including bootloaders, kernel config, device tree, and filesystem integration
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and debug hardware-software interactions
- Analyze and optimize system performance, memory usage, and power consumption for embedded Linux devices
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to the embedded Linux OS, drivers, and applications
- Create and maintain technical documentation for designs, code, and test procedures
- Work with cross‑functional teams (hardware, application software,
QA, product management) to define requirements and deliver products
- Represent Arduino at internal/external events and engage with the developer community
Responsabilità
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field with 5+ years of embedded Linux experience (or 4+ years with PhD)
- 5+ years in Embedded Linux development (or 4+ with PhD)
- Strong proficiency in C and/or C++ for embedded systems
- Deep understanding of the Linux kernel, drivers, modules, and system calls
- Experience with embedded Linux distributions and build xysqume systems (Yocto Project)
- Hands‑on with hardware interfaces/protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, CAN, GPIO)
- Proficiency with debugging tools (GDB, JTAG, oscilloscopes)
- Git flow and version control
- Ability to read hardware schematics and datasheets
- Excellent English written and spoken communication
