Purpose of the Position
As Subsea Mechanical and Structural Engineer, you will report to the Mechanical and Special Tool office manager and be part of the Sonsub office.
Responsibilities
- Design structural and machine elements including transmission gears and electromechanical components, selecting commercial components and materials; considering corrosion, machining, welding process, and fabrication tolerances.
- Design taking into account production cost savings, component standardization, and ease of integration, testing, and maintenance.
- Manage and control external engineering resources for assistance in 2D/3D design.
- Manage and control external subcontractors for fabrication and testing of the designed equipment.
- Manage 3D models produced internally and externally, filing documents in Autodesk Vault.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience:
5 years as a mechanical design engineer lead within the oil & gas or automation industry.
- Languages: Italian and English.
- Technical/IT Skills: Autodesk Vault and Inventor, ANSYS for finite element analysis, Office Suite.
