**APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: June 25th 2025** **Human Technopole (HT)**is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT has the mission of conducting cutting-edge research and to translate innovation into methods and tools available to the entire National scientific community. To this end, HT has opened National Facilities that provide world-class research infrastructure for Structural Biology, Light Imaging Microscopy, Genomics, Genome Engineering, and Data Handling and Analysis. The HCP infrastructural unit will work in synergy with the other National Facilities. **Key tasks and responsibilities**: - Design, develop, and optimize HCS and automation systems, including robotic workflows and integration of computational and biological inputs.
- Design, develop and validate biological assays in 2D and 3D format.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team (3+ members).
- Build and expand internal HCS capabilities and infrastructure.
- Create and optimize cell-based and cell-free assays for screening campaigns.
- Manage projects across all stages—from assay development through screening and final data analysis.
- Maintain strong dialogue with users and stakeholders, ensuring project alignment with broader discovery goals.
- Establish and document SOPs, data communication protocols, and regulatory compliance if needed.
- Train, mentor, and support users and scientific staff in automated workflows and HCS technologies.
- Explore and implement new screening technologies and methodologies.. **Essential requirements**
- M.Sc. in biology or engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience (including postgraduate, postdoctoral or industry).
- Project management experience, especially in infrastructure setup and expansion.
- Experience in cell-based assay design, development and validation.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Liquid handling platforms and high content imaging systems.
- Large-scale screening campaigns.
- Cell culture (including complex systems like organoids, embryos, parasites).
- Fluency in English **Preferential requirements**
- Phd in biology or engineering is a plus
- Previous working experience in a core facility
- Programming knowledge in Python **Other key competencies**
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong technical expertise in facility operations and IT integration.
