The HSE Manager is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations across the three Italian sites (Bologna, Milano, and Vicenza), with on?site presence required at each location.
This role oversees the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's Environmental Health Safety Management System in alignment with ISO ***** and UNI ISO *****:**** standards.
The HSE Manager supports the planning, development, execution, and ongoing enhancement of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs to safeguard employee wellbeing and operational integrity.
A key focus of the role is strengthening safety culture, influencing behaviors, and fostering close collaboration with operational leaders, General Managers, and cross?functional teams to embed proactive, accountable, and sustainable EHS practices throughout the organization.
/ph3Typical Accountabilities /h3ulliHealth, Safety Environmental: Driving best practices, regulatory compliance and strong safety culture initiatives within all sites and with all leaders /liliIdentify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace /liliSurvey to identify and evaluate occupational health, safety and environmental conditions /liliConduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices /liliProvide advice and counsel concerning all the compliance regulations applicable based on the local law and the company policies /liliDevelop controls for identified hazards /liliCoordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analysis /liliMeasure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries /liliPeople: Train, coach and develop team members and management in HSE awareness and Safety Culture development.
Leverage Essentra safety practices to obtain buy-in of the safety culture and develop the HSE site plans to move the safety culture forward /liliConduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information /liliAssist in new employee occupational health, safety and environmental orientation /liliQuality: Align with ISO Accredited Integrated Management Systems (UNI ISO *****:****, ISO*****) to ensure compliance across all sites.




Revise documentation (Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs), SOPs, forms, worksheets) to an agreed, standardised work approach using known best practices; /liliDirect environmental compliance programs related to hazardous wastes, air permitting, water pollution control, and community right-to-know programs; /liliMeasure and evaluate the effectiveness of the risk control system, policies, and procedures, and recommend changes that reflect better opportunities for eliminating workplace accidents and injuries.
/liliDelivery: Achieve on-time submission for regulatory, divisional and site-based reporting requirements /liliCompile, analyse, interpret and report accident, loss, and exposure statistical data /liliPrepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards /liliReview injury and property damage reports /liliCost: Own the HSE cost centre.
Report measurable improvements on department costs through Essentra Cost Savings (ECS) improvement activities while maintaining HSE system effectiveness /liliIncorporate essential occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements in all purchasing and control actions /liliRecommend the purchase of safety equipment and supplies /liliMake expenditure forecasts for EHS initiatives (drawing up the budget, benchmarking, analysis of budget-consumption deviations, definition of cost allocation methods) /liliInventory: Ensure raw materials, recycled content and manufactured product are handled in a responsible manner; aligned with divisional sustainability goals /liliContract Management and External Relations: Evaluate and maintain records of the necessary documentation from contractors for work performed within the plant /liliSupervise site access control /liliProvide specialist support in the company relations with public authorities, both in terms of control and during the authorisation phase, for the regular performance of production activities (licences, permits, reports, notifications, etc.) /li /ulh3Required Skills Experience /h3ulliDegree in Safety Management,
