Senior Build

Engineer. This is a hands‐on platform engineering role at a major OEM, owning the core Bazel‐based build infrastructure that underpins software development across developer workstations, large‐scale CI systems, and deeply embedded automotive ECUs.

Engagement details: Location: Turin, Italy Working model: Hybrid Start date: ASAP Employment type: Full-time, Contract or Freelance Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain Bazel rules, toolchains, platforms, and configuration models for large, multi‐language and multi‐architecture systems Establish hermetic and reproducible builds across Windows, Linux, and embedded targets Develop variant‐aware build models that scale across ECUs and product configurations without exponential complexity Model and normalize compiler toolchains under Bazel, including GCC, Clang, and embedded toolchains such as Tasking, Greenhills, HighTec,



and QNX Integrate remote caching and remote execution as core platform capabilities to support scale and predictable performance Expose build inputs, variants, quality data, and artifacts as declarative data through Bazel targets and outputs to enable downstream automation Embed quality and compliance as first‐class concerns: SBOM generation, licensing, standards adherence, testing, and traceability Drive consistency through shared conventions and inner‐source practices across teams, and support large‐scale migrations Qualifications: Several years of hands‐on xrdztoy Bazel experience, including Starlark and cross‐compilation Strong C/C++ foundation, plus Python, Go, or Rust for build‐related tooling and automation Experience designing reproducible build systems on Windows and Linux Familiarity with platform- and variant‐aware builds at scale A systems and platform mindset, improving foundations rather than applying local fixes Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, CI/CD engineers, and platform teams Fluent English
