About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Grant Reporting & Compliance Specialist to support the financial and administrative management of an Italian publicly funded research project.
This is a flexible tempo parziale freelance engagement , ideal for an independent consultant or grant management professional who already supports multiple organisations and is looking to collaborate with a growing research institute.
Working closely with our leadership team, you will oversee grant reporting, financial compliance and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring full compliance with Italian public funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the financial and administrative reporting of an Italian publicly funded project.
- Ensure compliance with funding rules, reporting requirements and project deadlines.
- Prepare, review and organise financial documentation and supporting evidence.
- Verify the eligibility of project expenditure in accordance with funding guidelines.
- Support the preparation and submission of reimbursement claims and financial reports.
- Maintain accurate project records and reporting documentation.
- Liaise with our team throughout project implementation.
- Respond to requests for clarification or additional documentation from the funding authority, when required.
Requirements
Essential
- Fluency in Italian (written and spoken).
- Demonstrated experience in the financial reporting and administration of Italian publicly funded projects .
- Proven experience working with Italian regional funding programmes .
- Strong understanding of eligible costs, personnel costs and supporting financial documentation under Italian public funding regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple reporting deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience with Italian national or European funding programmes (e.g. PR FESR, PNRR, Horizon Europe).
- Background in grant management, public funding or financial administration.
- Experience supporting research organisations, universities, SMEs or non-profit organisations.
