Overview : Business Development Manager for Emerson's Natural Gas business in Italy. Based in Seregno or Bologna with a focus on Southern Italy. You will drive business development activities, working with OEMs and industrial users, blending strategic direction with hands-on execution.
Responsibilities Define and execute commercial development plans aligned with business unit and country strategies.
Actively identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities, particularly within OEMs and industrial users in Southern Italy.
Promote Emerson's full portfolio of solutions, including lifecycle services, integrated systems, and gas technologies.
Drive lifecycle services growth across the national territory, collaborating with operations and execution teams.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, technical stakeholders, and decision-makers through regular engagement, networking, and site visits.
Manage the full opportunity lifecycle, from lead generation and qualification to negotiation and closing.
Collaborate cross-functionally with proposal, engineering, operations, and other business units to deliver high-quality solutions.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and enhance offerings.
Maintain accurate reporting through CRM systems and sales tools, dedicating time daily to pipeline management and forecasting.
Contribute to forecasting and provide regular updates to leadership to support business planning and performance tracking.
Operate in line with Emerson's ethics, compliance,
and quality standards at all times.
Qualifications Experience in the Natural Gas, Oil & Gas, or related energy sectors, ideally with exposure to lifecycle services.
Demonstrated ability to develop new business and manage complex sales cycles.
Strong understanding of industrial customers, OEM environments, or gas distribution and transmission markets.
Ability to work both autonomously and within defined strategic frameworks.
Proficiency in CRM systems and digital sales tools for pipeline management and forecasting.
Effective communication and relationship-building skills across technical and business stakeholders.
Professional proficiency in Italian and working knowledge of English.
Preferred Qualifications Direct experience in Natural Gas or similar process industries, enabling faster ramp-up and autonomy.
Experience working with or alongside lifecycle services, operations, or execution teams.
Familiarity with key industry players such as engineering companies, OEMs, or major energy solution providers.
Strong analytical and market-mapping skills to identify and prioritize growth opportunities.
Experience working in matrix organizations and collaborating across complex business units.
A structured, proactive approach to planning combined with adaptability in a dynamic commercial environment.
Compensation Salary range: 51,500 to 95,600 EUR annually, commensurate with skills, experience, and capabilities. For roles covered by a collective bargaining agreement, applicable salary range and pay structure are set by that agreement.
