Job Description

As an R&D; Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of air‑insulated high-voltage disconnectors, with a primary focus on the structural and mechanical components of the product.

You will work closely with R&D; Project Managers, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and cost‑out initiatives, ensuring robust, optimized, and reliable mechanical solutions.

Product Development & Validation

- Support R&D; Project Managers in product development and validation activities.

- Produce and manage 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.





- Investigate alternative materials and explore innovative manufacturing technologies.

- Perform mechanical validation of main disconnector components, including calculations and FEM structural analysis.

- Conduct cost analyses and propose manufacturing optimization improvements.

Testing & Certification:

- Participate in type test witnessing — both in internal accredited laboratories and external global facilities.

- Prepare test procedures, test instructions, and technical documentation.

- Support the emission of type test dossiers for internal or external stakeholders.

- Perform risk assessments, including FMEA analysis.

Support to R&D; Operations:

- Contribute to daily coordination of R&D; activities in collaboration with the R&D; Leader.

- Ensure effective communication with internal teams: R&D;, Standardization, Laboratory, Engineering, and Sales.

- Engage with external stakeholders: customers and accredited laboratories.

PROFILE:

- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

- Experience in mechanical engineering or within an R&D; department.

- Knowledge and practical experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.

- Basic understanding of FEM analysis.

- Good command of English (written and spoken).

- Understanding of manufacturing processes and production technologies.
