The National Centre for Oncological Hadrontherapy (Fondazione CNAO), based in Pavia, is looking for a Technician – Hitachi Proton Therapy to join the Technical Department / High Technology Unit.
- Industrial Technical High School Diploma in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Systems, or an equivalent technical field
- 1+ years of relevant experience
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Flexibility in working hours and shift patterns
- Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, piping diagrams, etc.)
- Working knowledge of electronic test and measurement instruments (oscilloscope, DVM, micrometers, etc.)
- Ability to perform manual-handling and basic physical tasks (e.g., climbing, moderate lifting)

Preferred requirements
- Higher Technical Institute (ITS) Diploma with specialization in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation,



or Mechanical/Electrical Systems (or equivalent field)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with environments involving high voltage, radiation, and electromagnetic fields

Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) system and its support systems in accordance with Maintenance and Operation Manuals
- Monitor system operational status and performance
- Execute assigned work orders and follow internal procedures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, including laws, radiation safety regulations, and internal policies

The candidate must demonstrate solid technical-professional knowledge, combined with soft skills such as:
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team
- High attention to detail and commitment to following procedures and guidelines
