Job Description – SAP DRC Consultant

Location: Italy (Hybrid)

Work Mode: Contract

Role Summary

• 10+ years of total experience. Recent experience focused on SAP DRC for the last 2-3

years. Prior experience can be either in SAP Finance or SD/Billing areas.

• Responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting SAP Document and Reporting

Compliance (DRC) solutions to ensure full compliance with Italy statutory, tax, and

e‑Invoicing regulations.

• Requires strong SAP S/4HANA Finance or SD functional expertise and hands-on

experience in Italy legal reporting and electronic compliance frameworks.

• Specific experiences or processes expected for Italy:

o Fattura PA

o SDI / Sistema di Interscambio (end to end including handling SDI rejections)

o Codice Destinatario

o Posta Elettronica Certificata

o B2B, B2G, and B2C e-Invoicing in Italy

o Codice Fiscale and Partita IVA

Key Responsibilities – SAP DRC (Italy)

• Lead end-to-end SAP DRC implementations for Italy on SAP S/4HANA (On-Premise or

RISE).

• Configure SAP DRC components including e‑Document Framework, statutory reporting,

and e‑Invoicing scenarios.

• Ensure compliance with Italy VAT, tax reporting, audit, and legal archiving

requirements.

Functional Expertise

• Strong hands-on functional experience in SAP FI: General Ledger, Accounts Receivable,

Accounts Payable, Asset Accounting, and Tax.

• Good understanding of SAP SD billing processes and their integration with statutory

reporting and compliance.

• Ability to analyze Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay processes from a Italy regulatory

and compliance perspective.

• Implement and support country specific e Invoicing requirements (e.g., Europe, LATAM,

APAC as applicable).

• Candidate must be able to support:

o XML generation and validation

o Digital signatures

o QR code generation (where mandated)





o Real time or near real time tax authority integration

• Design and manage integration between:

o SAP S/4HANA FI / SD / MM

o SAP DRC

o Tax Authority Platforms

o Third party compliance providers (e.g., government portals or middleware tools)

• Coordinate with SAP Basis and Integration teams for Connectivity, Certificates, Security

and authorizations etc.

• Peppol & e‑Invoicing Knowledge

• Good understanding of the Peppol network and its role in electronic invoicing within

Italy and the European Union.

• Experience or conceptual knowledge of Peppol BIS standards, structured invoice

formats, and interoperability requirements.

• Ability to support integration of SAP DRC with Peppol‑based access points or service

providers, where applicable.

• Testing involves an e2e flow with Peppol.

Specifications, Documentation & Testing

• Prepare and maintain Functional Specifications, compliance design documents, and

statutory mapping documents.

• Define test scenarios and support System Integration Testing (SIT) for SAP DRC and

e‑Invoicing flows.

• Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with Finance and Tax business users,

including defect analysis and resolution.

Go‑Live & Support

• Support cutover activities, go‑live, and hypercare for Italy entities.

• Provide L2/L3 production support for SAP DRC, including analysis of rejected invoices

or statutory reports.

• Proactively support regulatory changes and ensure continued compliance with evolving

Italy e‑Invoicing mandates.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with SAP DRC in a Italy regulatory context. Experience with other

countries within Europe is acceptable.

• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Must have very good collaboration skills as this implementation involves interacting

and dealing with different stakeholders (like Tax, Finance, and Legal teams).
