The Role
We are seeking a Maritime Operations Duty Officer to join our Operations Centre in Riano (Rome).
This is a full-time office-based operational role, supporting the planning, coordination and monitoring of international maritime security operations. Working in a fast-paced 24/7 environment, you will monitor ongoing deployments, communicate with vessels and operational stakeholders, maintain operational records, and ensure Company procedures are followed at all times.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor international maritime security operations during assigned shifts.
- Track vessel movements and maintain continuous situational awareness using the Company's operational systems.
- Coordinate daily with Masters, Company Security Officers (CSOs), agents, clients and deployed maritime security teams.
- Prepare deployment documentation, operational reports and maintain accurate records.
- Identify operational issues, delays or anomalies and escalate them promptly in accordance with Company procedures.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of international maritime security deployments.
- Ensure operational activities are carried out accurately and in compliance with Company procedures and quality standards.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the Maritime Security Operations Centre.
Requirements
- Italian citizenship is mandatory, as the successful candidate must be eligible for appointment as a Guardia Particolare Giurata (GPG) under Italian law, including the legal requirements to obtain and carry a firearm.
- Good spoken and written English (minimum B2 level) is essential.
- Availability to work 24/7 rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- This is a full-time office-based position in Riano (Rome); remote working is not available.
- Previous experience in the maritime/shipping industry (operations, vessel agency, maritime logistics, maritime security, Navy, Coast Guard or similar) is strongly preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
- Professional attitude, reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of an operational team while following established procedures.
