This position works closely and continuously with others from research development, field service, technical writing, sales, and manufacturing engineering to maximize customers’ satisfaction with Vertiv’s products and implement ongoing design changes. /p /brh3What kind of work will you be doing? /h3 /brul /brliDesign owner for large commercial battery backup systems using lithium-ion or other battery chemistry. /li /brliInvent, prototype, test and implement design changes to prevent recurrence of a problem, pursue cost-out opportunities, or add value to a product. /li /brliCreate or revise technical documentation for a product. /li /brliAssist with troubleshooting by investigating emergent problems at customer sites or in local factories. Regional travel to a customer site (typically a datacenter) is typically required every 4-6 months. /li /brliAssist with creating user manuals for new Vertiv products being launched. /li /brliOccasionally interact with customers directly, either in support of quoting/sales or in response to problems. /li /brliOccasionally operate test equipment up to 700V and 1.6MW in support of the activities above. /li /brliOccasionally design, build, and modify simple test equipment. /li /brliPerform other related duties and projects as assigned.
/li /br /ul /brh3Minimum Job Qualifications /h3 /brul /brliUniversity degree or technical diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. /li /brli2+ years of experience in an Electrical Engineer role. /li /brliCustomer oriented and available to travel. /li /brliGood English language knowledge. /li /brliMust have good planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills. /li /brliMust be team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced work environment. /li /brliMust be able to lead and coordinate project tasks with other engineering teams globally. /li /br /ul /brh3Preferred Qualifications /h3 /brul /brliExperience in any of the following areas is desirable: /li /brliAnalog or high-voltage circuit design /li /brliIndustrial equipment design /li /brliCommercial or industrial power infrastructure /li /brliUninterruptible power supplies /li /brliSensor microprocessor integration /li /brliLithium-ion battery management systems /li /brliExperience certifying one or more products with a listing agency such as UL or CSA /li /brliKnowledge of NEC or NFPA 855 is desirable but not required. /li /brliExperience using 2-dimensional CAD is desirable but not required. /li /br /ul /brh3OUR CORE PRINCIPALS /h3 /brpSafety.
