- Commitment & contract: Collaboration contract_
- Location: Rome, Via Guidubaldo del Monte 54_ **_Step into a world of endless possibilities, together let’s leave something for the future!_** At IIT, we are committed to advancing human-centered Science and Technology to address the most urgent societal challenges of our era. We foster excellence in both fundamental and applied research, spanning fields such as neuroscience and cognition, humanoid technologies and robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, and material sciences, offering a truly interdisciplinary scientific experience. Our approach integrates cutting-edge tools and technology, empowering researchers to push the limits of knowledge and innovation. With us, your curiosity will know no bounds. We are dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities and fostering diversity in all its forms, creating an inclusive environment. We value the unique experiences, knowledge, backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives of our people. By embracing diversity, we believe science can achieve its fullest potential. **THE ROLE** You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal. The _Neuroscience and Society _Research Unit is coordinated by _Salvatore Maria Aglioti_. The research focuses on a variety of social and cognitive neuroscience topics. These include bodily self-consciousness, social interaction, morality and moral decision-making, interoception, and brain-body interactions. Research on these topics employs cutting-edge neuroscientific technology, like Immersive Virtual Reality, Motion Capture, electrogastrography, electrocardiography, electroencephalography, and skin conductance recording. Within the research team,
your main responsibilities will be: - To create experimental paradigms aimed at investigating social interactions, moral decision-making, embodiment, interoception;
- To collect and analyze the behavior and kinematics of participants during social tasks, their neural (electroencephalography, voxel-based lesion-symptom mapping ) and physiological activity (electrocardiography, electrogastrography, skin conductance);
- To work with both typical and neurological populations (patients with brain lesions). **ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- A PhD in_ in Psychology or Social Neuroscience, and similar disciplines _
- Documented experience in _on: a) the development and implementation of Immersive Virtual Reality scenarios aimed at modulating the components of bodily self-consciousness and exploring the effects of these modulations over social decision-making in ecological contexts; b) acquisition of behavioral, kinematics, physiological (electrogastrography, electrocardiography, skin conductance), and neural data (electroencephalography and voxel-based lesion-symptom mapping)._
- Strong publication record
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
- Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
