Midsummer Italy is now preparing to start up the R&D; and production facility in Bari and are currently looking for 2 Junior R&D; Engineers. **Job description**:
We are looking for 2 Junior R&D; Engineers, that are newly graduated or with some experience, preferably within R&D; or materials science. You will be part of a R&D-team; who are responsible for developing and refining products and processes, participating in research projects, and validate products, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards. The daily work involves conducting experiments, analysing results, investigating key material properties and performance in order to improve our solar cells and panels. Furthermore, this is a hybrid role, meaning that part of the tasks involves assisting in production with tasks such as inspecting and testing materials and products to ensure quality specifications are met, improving production processes, and electrical measuring (using the flasher machine). You will carry out technical hands-on work on Midsummer’s own designed DUO-machine, as well as theoretical work with data analysis and statistics. with a team spirit and willingness to help out wherever it’s needed, both within and across teams. **Responsibilities**: - Assist in conducting experiments, analysing results, investigating key material properties and performance in order to improve our solar cells and panels.
- Carrying out development activities and experimental tasks
- Assist in analysing and identifying correction for materials-related issues
- Inspecting and testing materials and products to ensure quality specifications are met
- Technical hands-on work on Midsummer’s own designed DUO-machine **Requirements and skills**: - Bachelor or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar.
- Newly graduate or around 1 - 2 years of work experience
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Minimum B2-level in English **Advantageous**: - Knowledge of material properties, a plus if on semiconductors
- Knowledge of materials processing and fabrication
- Experience from a production environment
- Knowledge of data analysis, process modelling and materials testing
- Passionate about technology development and with a learning mindset
- Strong analytical skills
