What you'll do
We're looking for aSenior Java Backend Engineerto lead the design and development of backend services that power Clara's financial platform.
You'll own key architectural decisions and collaborate across teams to ensure our systems are performant, secure, and built to scale.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and wants to shape the future of backend engineering at Clara.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and implementing robust backend services usingJava,Spring,Spring Boot, andSpring Batch
Architecting scalable, distributed systems andmicroservicesthat support our core financial products
Modeling data and managingPostgreSQLandRedisfor both transactional and caching needs
Building and securingRESTful APIsfor internal and external consumption




Working withevent-driven architecturesand tools likeKafkaorRabbitMQ
Mentoring junior engineers, enforcing best practices and quality standards
Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver technical solutions that align with business goals
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role.
The preferred qualifications are a premio, not a requirement.
Must haves
5+ years of experience in backend development usingJava, includingSpring BootandSpring Batch
Strong background insoftware architecture,system design, andmicroservices
Proficiency withPostgreSQL,Redis, and scalable data modeling
Experience withKafka,RabbitMQ, or other message brokers
Hands?on experience withCI/CD pipelines,Git,Docker, andKubernetes
Strong understanding ofcloud platforms, especiallyAWS
Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities
Working proficiency inEnglishandSpanish
Proactive, execution-focused, and adaptable to evolving technologies
Nice to haves
Experience infinancial applicationsorcard processing systems
