WORK SCHEDULE:
To be discussed at interview Responsible for planning, managing, and directing the daily operations of a retail store and any annexed facilities. This includes full oversight of merchandising, sales, inventory, promotions, customer service, financial accountability, and compliance with organizational policies. The role requires demonstrated leadership in managing a diverse workforce of both Local National (LN) and U.S. payroll employees, ensuring full compliance with the conditions of employment (COE), Exchange operating procedures (EOPS), and applicable Italian labor laws. Establishes financial and operational goals that maximize sales, profitability, stock-to-sales ratios, inventory Turns, and overall productivity while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and employee development.

- Performs a majority of the following duties:
1. Plans, coordinates, supervises, and controls all aspects of store and annex operations, including merchandising, selling, pricing, promotions, and customer services. Ensures compliance with COE, EOPS, and Italian labor law. 2. Determines staffing requirements for both local national and U.S. payroll employees. Assigns work, evaluates performance, provides coaching and training, approves leave, enforces discipline, and initiates personnel actions as necessary. 3. Directs sales floor operations including merchandise display, selling practices, customer service, sales promotions, seasonal sales, and cashier operations. Authorizes returns, refunds, and exchanges; resolves customer complaints fairly and promptly. 4. Implements merchandise controls including inventory cycles, requisition procedures, and vendor coordination for stock replenishment. Reviews stock structure and recommends adjustments as needed. 5. Oversees stockroom operations to ensure correct procedures for receiving, pricing, storing, and issuing merchandise.



Ensures price changes are implemented accurately and in a timely manner. 6. Maintains full accountability for cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory. Reviews and certifies accountability reports, ensures the safekeeping and deposit of funds, and establishes internal controls to safeguard resources. 7. Reviews and analyzes key performance data including stock-to-sales ratios, markdowns, write-offs, and supply usage. Prepares budgets, explains variances, and recommends corrective actions. 8. Directs repairs and maintenance of equipment, fixtures, and facilities. Recommends layout changes, renovations, or remodeling to improve efficiency and customer experience. 9. Promotes corporate programs such as the Military Star Card, Exchange Protection Plan, and other initiatives to drive sales and strengthen customer loyalty. 10. Ensures all operations are conducted in compliance with safety, sanitation, security, and legal requirements. Maintains open communication with employees, management, and unions as appropriate. 11. Performs other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the store. Complies with applicable directives, policies and procedures. Actively supports and implements applicable EEO laws and programs within the exchange. Assumes other related responsibilities as assigned.

- **Qualification requirements**_ Three (3) years of recent retail management experience within the last five (5) years supervising at least 20 employees, including both Local National and U.S. payroll staff. Or, A bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field plus a minimum of one (1) year of retail management experience within the last five years. Fluency in both Italian and English (spoken and written) is required.
