General Purpose of the Position:
Support the Development and Construction Department, reporting to the Regional Construction Manager, in overseeing and coordinating local Data Center projects with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule alignment and cost optimization.
Coordinate all on-site construction activities, manage local contractors and consultants, and act as the primary and on-field interface between Vaultica project teams, external stakeholders, and local authorities to ensure successful project execution.
Contribute directly to the successful delivery and handover of completed facilities to Operations, ensuring full alignment with company standards and operational requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate and timely construction progress reports (with progress update and risk management) and monitor job progress to ensure timely completion of projects.
Follow-up on construction works and design/construction and commissioning meetings.
Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with design, client expectations and safety regulations.
Collaborate with Safety department on the technical, operative, and organizational activities according to Spanish law and best practices.
Collaborate with design teams and actively participate in the design and pre-construction phases. Ensure timely issuance of design and commercial deliverables.
Understand the entire supply chain for your project, including vendors, GCs, subcontractors and Clerk of Works. Foster strong relationships and act as a liaison between project teams and the supply chain.
Identify and manage project risks, developing clear strategies for risk mitigation. Proactively address challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Track construction costs,
change orders and assist on contractual claims supporting cost control and reporting in coordination with internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with your peers across EMEA to continually assess, align on and improve the delivery methodology.
Lead construction meetings, site coordination meetings and progress reviews, ensuring timely resolution of issues and clear communication across all parties.
Ensure construction close-out documentation is completed and support the handover of the facility to Operations, working closely with Operations & IT/Network teams to integrate their requirements.
Required Job Skills:
Strong stakeholder communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Native Spanish and fluent English are required; additional languages are considered a plus.
Strong leadership skills, high emotional intelligence, and a proven ability to manage contractors, consultants, and site teams in a dynamic project environment.
Promote and model an attitude of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork in behaviors and communications.
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality
Familiarity with construction management software
Microsoft Office (focused on Excel and Power Point), CAD, Microsoft Project, Primavera, Project Management professional tools,
Problem-solving attitude with a crucial ability to meet deadlines, strong planning, and organizational
Education and Experience:
BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related
4+ years of proven experience in project and construction management that will include critical Infrastructure for Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Bio-tech, Petrochemical or similar environments.2-3 years of proven experience in DC environment is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry best practices.
2-3 years of proven experience in DC environment is a plus.
