Position Overview
Data Analysis Specialist
– Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) – Rome, Italy.
Full?time, on?site consultant position (11 months, possible renewal).
Role Summary
The Specialist will support effective programme operations, coordination, and delivery in the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) Team of the Forestry Division.
They provide specialized technical expertise in design, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of consolidated databases and digital platforms to strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems, knowledge management, and evidence?based decision?making.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain integrated databases and data management platforms, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility across multiple sources and systems.
Conduct exploratory data analysis and analytical assessments to identify patterns and trends in forestry?related livelihood activities and their impact on programme outcomes.
Enhance qualitative and quantitative technical documentation to improve data quality and reporting standards.
Design and develop analytical dashboards and data visualizations using PowerBI, Excel, and Tableau to support dissemination of programme results and evidence?based decision?making.
Prepare analytical outputs, dashboards, presentations, and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
Minimum Requirements
Advanced university degree in international development, natural resource management,



business administration, economics, social sciences, environmental science, or related field; alternatively, a first?level degree plus at least two years of relevant experience.
Minimum of one year of relevant work experience in programme or project support, preferably within FAO or a UN agency.
Working knowledge of English (levelC).
Strong organizational, analytical, and writing skills.
Familiarity with FAO's contractual modalities and operational procedures is an asset.
