Solutions is looking for a strong

Head of Engineering /strong to help us coordinate, structure and grow our engineering organization while remaining deeply involved in technical decisions and delivery. /pp

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role.

The ideal candidate will work closely with Geo

Solutions' leadership to define and enforce technical directions, improve collaboration across teams, support project delivery, strengthen our Dev

Ops and QA capabilities, and contribute to technical recruiting. /ppbr/pp

This position is not meant for a purely corporate manager.

We are looking for someone with a solid technical background, proven experience coordinating engineering teams, and direct working knowledge of Open Source GIS technologies and modern deployment environments. /pp

The person will report directly to Geo

Solutions' leadership and will work closely with team leaders, technical leads, project managers, Dev

Ops engineers, developers and QA resources across the company. /ppbr/pp

The role will involve sharing part of the CTO responsibilities with Geo

Solutions' leadership.

Technical strategy will be defined collaboratively, while the person will be expected to turn that strategy into execution across teams, products, projects and delivery activities. /ppbr/ppstrong

Main Responsibilities are as follows /strong /pulli

Coordinate engineering teams across multiple projects, products and technical areas /lili

Work with team leaders and technical leads to define priorities, remove blockers and improve execution /lili

Help define, communicate and enforce technical directions across the company /lili

Improve collaboration between back-end, front-end, Dev

Ops, QA, testing and project teams /lili

Support project delivery,



ensuring that clients receive what they need on time and with the expected quality level /lili

Take responsibility for technical delivery, staffing, quality, technical risks and engineering execution /lili

Work closely with Dev

Ops, with a deeper involvement in the organization and evolution of the Dev

Ops team /lili

Help establish and grow a structured QA function within the company /lili

Support technical recruiting, including candidate screening, interviews and evaluation /lili

Contribute to architecture and technical decisions when needed /lili

Promote engineering best practices, maintainability, documentation, automation and quality-oriented development /lili

Periodically report status, risks, priorities and strategic recommendations to Geo

Qualifications are as follows /strong /pulli

Proven experience in software development is required /lili

Proven experience coordinating engineering teams, technical leads or multidisciplinary software teams is required /lili

Strong working knowledge of Open Source GIS technologies and core GIS concepts is required /lili

Proven hands-on experience with at least one product between strong

GeoServer, Geo

Node, Map

Store or QGIS /strong is a strict requirement /lili

Good knowledge of OGC standards and concepts, including WMS, WFS, WCS, vector data, raster data and coverages /lili

Solid understanding of modern software architecture, deployment environments and production systems /lili

Experience with Dev





Ops practices, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes and cloud or hybrid deployments /lili

Experience improving delivery processes, team collaboration and technical quality /lili

Familiarity with issue management systems and Agile methodologies where applicable /lili

Ability to communicate clearly with developers, technical leads, project managers, clients and company leadership /lili

Ability to make decisions, push teams toward alignment and follow through on execution /lili

Fluent English is required /lili

Being fluent in Italian is a strong plus /lili

Experience with ESRI products is a plus /lili

Experience building or improving QA processes is a plus /li /ulpbr/ppstrong

Compensation /strong /pp

Indicative salary range: strongEUR 75,000 - EUR 90,000 gross annual compensation /strong, depending on seniority, experience, location and overall fit. /pp

The final compensation package will be discussed individually and may be adjusted for exceptionally strong profiles with deep experience in Open Source GIS, engineering leadership, Dev

Ops and delivery management. /ppbr/ppstrong

This is a long-term position, not a project-based collaboration. /pp

Working remotely is an option we fully embrace.

However, the ideal candidate should work from a timezone compatible with European operations, preferably between strongGMT-1 and GMT+3 /strong. /pp

The role may require periodic travel for internal meetings, client meetings, workshops, conferences or strategic project activities. /pp
