Role Description The System Administrator will manage, monitor, and maintain the university's IT infrastructure and services, ensuring stable and secure operations across servers, networks, and related systems.
Day-to-day responsibilities include installing and configuring operating systems and applications, performing routine system updates and backups,



and proactively identifying and resolving performance or availability issues.
The role involves providing technical support to academic and administrative staff, diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, and escalating complex issues when necessary.
The System Administrator will collaborate with IT colleagues on security measures, access control, documentation, and continuous improvement of services in alignment with institutional policies and best practices.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pavia.
Qualifications Strong System Administration skills, including operating system management, user and permissions management, and server configuration.
Experience with Network Administration and Information Technology infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, and basic security practices.
Demonstrated ability in Troubleshooting and Technical Support, with a structured approach to diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Knowledge of backup, recovery, and monitoring tools, and familiarity with virtualization or cloud technologies is beneficial.
Ability to produce clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Good command of English and Italian, with strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
