Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Research & Development In this role you will support embedded software development in structured R&D; projects and in software ecosystems for prototyping, contributing to innovation projects, enabling software ecosystems for prototyping, and collaborating with partner teams while establishing an internal/external network. Responsibilities * Develop, test, and verify embedded software in the field of embedded system projects. * Enable Infineon MCU portfolios for Arduino, ROS and Zephyr software ecosystems. * Develop and test embedded software libraries mainly for actuators and sensors for Infineon MCU hardware platforms. * Capture, analyze and understand requirements and break them down into structured work packages. * Represent Infineon at events such as trade fairs and university fairs. * Supervise working students and interns to develop leadership skills. Qualifications & Skills * A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a comparable discipline. * At least 2 years of professional experience in embedded software development, preferably in the semiconductor industry or in robotics, with hands?on experience in C, C++ and Python.
* Experience with embedded Real?Time Operating Systems such as Zephyr and FreeRTOS, and with embedded system development workflows and tools. * Very good knowledge of MCU architecture/operation (interrupts, IPC etc.) and communication peripherals (Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI etc.). * Good knowledge of ROS2 and simulation tools (IsaacSim, MuJoCo) is a plus. * Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in German and Italian is a plus.
