Job Summary
This 10‐hour post focuses on leading the community multi‐professional neuro‐rehabilitation team of Plymouth, with additional responsibilities in interventional clinics, intrathecal baclofen pump services, and a spinal regional rehabilitation team. The Consultant may also provide cover for a Level 2A specialist rehabilitation beds and stroke rehabilitation unit.
The role is based at Mount Gould Hospital in Plymouth and is part of a multidisciplinary team that includes three consultants, one specialist, one SAS doctor and trainees on rotation. The work involves assessing and treating patients with complex, chronic conditions in both acute and community settings and ensuring person‐centred care.
Responsibilities
Lead the community multi‐professional neuro‐rehabilitation team.
Provide clinical care in interventional clinics and intrathecal baclofen pump service.
Participate in the spinal regional rehabilitation team.
Assume a leadership role in developing services.




Provide cover for a Level 2A specialist rehabilitation beds & stroke rehabilitation unit as required.
Contribute to clinical audit, research, and teaching activities.
Person Specification – Experience
Essential
Training and wide experience in rehabilitation medicine.
Secure background general medical experience and competency to manage on‐call emergencies at senior level.
Experience working with managers to improve patient experience and service delivery.
Experience in clinical audit, clinical research, and teaching principles for undergraduate, postgraduate, and interdisciplinary learners.
Proven ability to motivate, support, and work within a multi‐disciplinary team.
High professional and ethical standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Basic computer/IT skills.
