SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE ENGINEER

Responsibilities

Software and Firmware Development

- Design and develop software applications and embedded firmware for hardware devices and card personalization systems.

- Implement new features and functionalities according to product requirements.

- Write clean, efficient, maintainable and well-documented code.

- Maintain, improve and update existing software and firmware solutions.

- Develop low-level drivers and interfaces for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.

System and Hardware Integration

- Collaborate with hardware and product engineering teams to integrate software and firmware with electronic and mechanical devices.

- Support hardware bring-up, system validation and product-integration activities.

- Develop and manage communication interfaces and protocols between embedded systems, physical devices and host applications.

- Ensure compatibility and reliable data exchange between the different system components.

Testing and Debugging

- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software and firmware defects, performance issues and system anomalies.

- Perform validation, functional testing and performance testing.

- Support debugging and root-cause analysis using appropriate software and hardware development tools.

- Contribute to the resolution of technical issues during development and product releases.

Architecture, Documentation and Process Improvement

- Contribute to software and firmware architecture design and technical discussions.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

- Support product releases, software updates and firmware upgrades.





- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools and coding practices.

- Work with the team to improve product quality, reliability and system performance.

Requirements

- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.

- Previous experience in software development, embedded systems or firmware development.

- Strong knowledge of C and C++; knowledge of C# or Java is considered an advantage.

- Experience with object-oriented programming.

- Experience with microcontrollers and embedded platforms.

- Understanding of real-time and embedded-system architectures.

- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux environments.

- Experience with communication protocols between embedded devices and host software.

- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting tools; familiarity with oscilloscopes and logic analysers is considered an advantage.

- Experience with version-control systems, preferably Git.

- Knowledge of databases and APIs is considered a plus.

- Good command of English.

Retribuzione: €33.000,00 - €38.000,00 all'anno
