Posizione: We are looking for a motivated Junior Gas Trader to support the growing gas portfolio and generation assets. The role combines short-term gas trading activities with operational management of physical gas flows , including nominations and plant support. The successful candidate will contribute to the optimization of the gas portfolio supplying power generation assets (e.g. CCGTs) , ensuring alignment between trading strategies, physical delivery, and system balancing.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor Italian and European gas markets (PSV, TTF) with focus on short-term dynamics
Execution of spot trading strategies (day-ahead, within-day, weekend)
Analyze key drivers impacting gas prices and spreads
Contribute to portfolio optimization, including hub positioning and balancing strategies
Support interaction between gas and power portfolios, particularly for CCGT dispatch optimization
Prepare daily reports on positions, P&L; and market fundamentals
Manage gas nominations and re-nominations on SNAM platform
Monitor and manage the daily gas balance position
Maintain accurate operational data in internal systems
Develop and maintain quantitative tools to support trading decisions: position tracking, imbalance forecasting, P&L; attribution and scenario analysis
Monitor exposure in line with portfolio mandates and risk limits
Ensure accurate trade capture in ETRM systems Requisiti: Education Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related fields.
Technical Skills
Strong interest in energy markets, particularly gas and power integration
Understanding of gas market structure (PSV, balancing, storage), power generation economics
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Knowledge of Excel and Python
Familiarity with trading tools (e.g. Trayport, ETRM systems) Soft Skills High attention to detail and operational accuracy
Ability to work under pressure in a real-time trading environment
Strong problem-solving mindset
Proactive and willing to learn
Team player with effective communication skills across functions Languages Italian

Compensation Information In accordance with Article 5 of Italian Legislative Decree No. 96/2026 on pay transparency, the gross annual salary for this position ranges from €46,000 to €50,000. The job grade and compensation package are determined on the basis of objective, transparent and non-discriminatory criteria, taking into account the responsibilities of the role and the required skills, in accordance with the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for employees in the Italian electricity sector. Any higher compensation may be considered solely on the basis of additional objectively verifiable factors, such as relevant professional experience, specialist expertise, or qualifications related to the position.
