Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Job Duties and Responsibilities - Support development, configuration, integration, and validation of embedded software for automotive ECU and vehicle electrification programs under the direction of senior engineers.
- Contribute to embedded software implementation using C/C++, model-based generated code, or AUTOSAR software components as applicable to the project.
- Assist with software integration activities involving application software, basic software, communication interfaces, diagnostics, memory services, and bootloader-related features.
- Support cybersecurity-related software features when required, including secure communication, secure boot, secure software update, key management, and HSM interface integration.
- Review and clarify assigned customer, system, and software requirements with support from senior team members.
- Prepare software design notes, implementation documentation, test evidence, and engineering work products required for project delivery.
- Maintain traceability between assigned requirements, software design items, implementation tasks, and verification evidence using engineering lifecycle tools.
- Support debugging, issue analysis, root cause investigation, and verification activities for embedded software features.
- Follow software development processes, coding guidelines, configuration management practices, and quality expectations aligned with automotive engineering standards.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, software integration reviews, project meetings, and technical training activities.
Experience and Education Required Experience - 3 years of experience in embedded software development, automotive software, controls software, or related engineering coursework,
internship, co-op, or project experience.
- Basic programming experience in C or C++; familiarity with embedded software concepts, microcontrollers, memory, interrupts, and real-time constraints is preferred.
- Exposure to automotive ECUs, AUTOSAR, CAN/LIN/Ethernet communication, diagnostics, bootloaders, or model-based development is preferred but not required.
- Basic awareness of cybersecurity concepts such as authentication, encryption, secure communication, secure boot, software updates, or key management is a plus.
- Strong willingness to learn embedded software development, automotive engineering practices, and project-specific tools and processes.
- Good communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, ask questions, follow technical direction, and complete assigned tasks with guidance.
- Familiarity with Jira, Polarion, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar engineering lifecycle and configuration management tools is a plus.
- Awareness of ASPICE, ISO 26262, or ISO/SAE 21434 is preferred but not required.
Education - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Embedded software, automotive software, controls, or cybersecurity-related coursework, projects, internships, or certifications are a plus.
