AssetClassic

Milano

AssetClassic is building the reference data infrastructure for the global collectible-car market.

The collector-car market is large, valuable, fragmented and still structurally opaque.

AssetClassic Data exists to change that: we collect, clean, enrich and structure market data so it can power better valuations, indices, investment decisions, internal tools and future B2B data products.

We are looking for a mid-level Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to join our Milan team full-time. This is not a narrow dashboarding role and not a pure machine-learning research role. It is a hands-on data platform role across ingestion, transformation, enrichment, quality control and production data operations.

About the role

You will help improve and operate the end-to-end data pipeline behind AssetClassic Data:

- Gather – bringing together transaction, valuation, macroeconomic and reference data from across the market into one place.
- Transform – turning large, messy, inconsistent datasets into something clean, structured, and comparable, including AI-assisted enrichment of the underlying data.
- Serve – feeding the valuation models, market indices, internal dashboards, and data products that reach our team, partners, and clients. You will not be expected to know all of this on day one. You will be expected to be sharp, resourceful, and genuinely eager to learn it. You will work alongside – and learn directly from – senior data professionals with strong track records and a domain expert who knows the collector-car market inside out. This is positioned as capacity the team needs now, with real room to take ownership of areas and grow into a larger role over time. What you’ll do
- Help bring together and consolidate collector-car data from across the market.
- Process large volumes of transaction data in a timely, precise way – cleaning, deduplicating, and quality-checking.
- Contribute to the pipeline that turns raw, inconsistent data into structured, comparable records.

- Support our enrichment and valuation work – helping develop, test, and validate the models and indices at the core of what we do.
- Build and improve internal tools, dashboards, and data feeds that serve the wider team and our partners.
- Turn data into clear analyses, reports, and visualizations for both internal and external audiences.
- Help strengthen and expand our data over time as the platform grows. What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is already productive with data engineering or analytics engineering work and wants to grow inside a high-context, high-domain-specific data product.

- Curiosity about collectible cars. A genuine interest in the cars, the market, and its history matters more than prior expertise – but you should want to go deep.
- A real foundation in working with data, ideally from a professional role, internship, serious project, or technical academic background. We care about aptitude and trajectory, but you should already have practical experience working with data pipelines, SQL/Python workflows, or production analytics systems.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and Python. Exposure to cloud data platforms, data transformation tooling, BI tools, or low-code platforms is a plus.
- A modern working style: you are expected to use AI tools and agent-assisted workflows in your daily work to move faster, debug more effectively, improve code quality, document decisions, and accelerate repetitive data tasks — while keeping strong judgment, validation, and ownership of the final output.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving instincts, with care for correctness and attention to detail.

- Clear communication in English. Italian is a plus, not a requirement.
- A self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a small, fast-moving team.
- A relevant academic background (data science, computer science, economics, engineering, statistics, or similar) is helpful but not essential. What you’ll get
- Rare full-pipeline exposure – learn how data acquisition, engineering, and analytics fit together end to end, rather than being boxed into one function.
- Real mentorship – work directly with experienced data professionals and a market expert who are pioneers in the collector-car ecosystem.
- A modern stack – GCP, BigQuery, Cloud Build, Cloud Run, dbt, GitHub, Railway, Postgres, FastAPI, Redis, and current AI/ML approaches.
- An interesting problem – the intersection of data and one of the world’s most compelling asset classes.
- A flat, international team – colleagues from all over the world, short decision paths, and the freedom to make an impact quickly.
- Room to grow – strong potential to continue and take on a larger, longer-term role as the team scales.

About

AssetClassic

AssetClassic exists to elevate the collector-car world – as long-term partners building the businesses, investments, and experiences that resonate with real motoring passion. A core part of that vision is bringing a transparent, data-driven perspective to a market worth roughly €40bn a year that has, until now, remained opaque to almost everyone.

That is the job of AssetClassic Data, the team you would be joining. Our ambition is to become the reference data infrastructure for the global collectible-car sector. The capability already runs deep – a mature data platform and analytics that sharpen decisions across our Advisory and Fund businesses and our data collaborations with leading players in the industry. We are now investing to take it to the next level – and we want someone to grow with us as we do.
