We are looking for a Technical Specialist to join our Batch Operations team, responsible for the monitoring, scheduling, and support of batch processing environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mainframe and Linux-based batch scheduling tools, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a production support setting, including on-call rotations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage batch job scheduling using Control-M
- Develop and maintain JCL for batch processing workflows
- Perform Basic Linux system administration tasks and troubleshoot issues in production environments
- Write and maintain scripts (Shell/Python/Perl) to automate operational tasks
- Provide production support, including incident diagnosis, resolution, and escalation
- Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure 24x7 batch operations support
- Track and manage incidents, changes, and service requests via Jira and ServiceNow (SNOW)
- Use GitHub for version control and collaborative code/script management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve batch processing reliability
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language)
- Hands-on experience with Control-M monitoring and scheduling
- Proficiency in Linux administration and command-line operations
- Scripting experience (Shell, Python, or similar)
- Working knowledge of GitHub for source control
- Experience with Jira and ServiceNow (SNOW) for ticketing and incident management
- Prior experience in a production support role
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a batch operations(Control-M) or mainframe environment
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure.
- Exposure to AI tools is an add-on advantage.
