ppWe are expanding Duferco's Corporate Innovation Team: a fast-moving engineering team operating in a start up-like environment, backed by the stability and scale of a diversified global group.
/p pWe are looking for an engineering leader whose mission is to help evolve how software is built inside the organization through AI-assisted development, agentic coding workflows, and modern engineering practices.
/p pThis is not a traditional engineering management role focused mainly on delivery coordination.
We are looking for someone who can establish and enforce high-leverage development workflows, improve engineering effectiveness, and help teams fully exploit modern AI coding tools and autonomous development systems.
/p pYou will work closely with engineers across projects and domains — helping shape coding standards, review processes, engineering tooling, development workflows, and AI-native software delivery practices.
/p h3About the Team /h3 pWe sit close to real business problems and have the freedom to prototype and ship quickly.
AI is already part of our daily workflow, and we expect that role to keep expanding.
/p pWe care about building things well, shipping systems that create leverage, and continuously improving how engineering work gets done.
/p pWe appreciate people who combine strong engineering judgment with pragmatism, curiosity, and a deep interest in how AI is changing software development itself.
/p h3What You'll Do /h3 ul liEstablish engineering best practices around AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows /li liDrive adoption of modern AI development tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, MCP-enabled workflows, autonomous agents,
and related systems /li liImprove development velocity and code quality through AI-assisted review, testing, refactoring, documentation, and automation practices /li liDefine and evolve engineering workflows for AI-native software delivery, including PR review standards, coding conventions, development environments, and collaboration patterns /li liMentor engineers on effective usage of AI coding tools, balancing speed, maintainability, reliability, and engineering judgment /li liEvaluate emerging AI development paradigms and help the organization adopt practical approaches with real leverage /li liCollaborate closely with engineering teams while remaining hands?on enough to understand workflow bottlenecks and opportunities first hand /li /ul pHelp shape internal engineering tooling, automation systems, and developer productivity infrastructure.
/p h3What We Offer /h3 ul liA high?autonomy role with significant influence on engineering practices and development culture /li liThe opportunity to help define how AI-assisted software engineering is adopted at scale inside the organization /li liModern AI-assisted engineering tools and freedom to experiment with new workflows and technologies /li liA fast-moving,
collaborative environment with talented and ambitious people /li liA broad variety of technical and operational challenges across multiple industries and domains /li liCompetitive compensation and benefits /li liFlexible working hours and hybrid work setup /li /ul h3You're Probably a Fit If /h3 ul liYou have experience leading or mentoring software engineering teams in fast-moving environments /li liYou actively use AI coding tools daily — Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, or similar — and have developed strong opinions about where they create leverage and where human judgment still matters most /li liYou think deeply about developer productivity, engineering workflows, code review quality, maintainability, and software delivery effectiveness /liliYou can balance pragmatism and engineering rigor without becoming process-heavy /li liYou are comfortable introducing new workflows and helping teams adopt them effectively /li liYou stay current with emerging development paradigms around LLMs, coding agents, autonomous workflows, MCP ecosystems, and AI-native engineering practices /li liYou are still technically strong enough to engage credibly with engineers and understand the realities of day-to-day software development /li liYou enjoy improving systems, workflows, and organizations — not just writing code /li /ul pExperience with backend systems, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD systems, developer platforms, LLM applications, agent frameworks, or internal engineering tooling is a strong plus.
/p pYou do not need experience with every technology we use.
Strong engineering judgment, adaptability, curiosity, and the ability to help teams evolve matter much more.
