As a Technical Lead at NXP, you will drive the development of low-level IP firmware and device drivers for MCU platforms, bridging HW and SW across pre- and post-silicon stages.
You'll collaborate with central SW teams and the HW team to maximize reuse, ensure HW compatibility, and deliver robust SDK-enabled drivers.
You'll lead architecture, standards, and validation efforts to release world-class, scalable firmware.
Join a mission to enable AI at the Edge with high-impact MCU/So C solutions.
annual incentive opportunities equity competitive benefits package remuneration aligned with collective agreement world-class pace of product development Lead development of low-level IP firmware and device drivers for MCU platforms with emphasis on quality and reusability Define and enforce software architecture methodologies and reusable APIs across programs Architect and deliver IP firmware/driver solutions covering RTL verification, virtual simulation, So C verification, post-silicon validation, and SDK integration Align HAL/SDK development with IP interface requirements across pre-silicon and post-silicon teams Collaborate with HW, SW architects and SOC designers to start firmware in parallel with hardware development Review hardware register definitions to improve usability and maintainability of software Maintain backward-compatible software interfaces as hardware IP evolves Create frameworks for consistent,
scalable driver implementations Define enablement strategies for drivers alongside hardware IP for SDK integration Support simulation, emulation, and silicon validation environments to ensure robust API behavior Enforce quality practices: design/code reviews, static analysis, coding standards Produce technical documentation and presentations for stakeholders Use Git, JIRA, and Confluence to drive execution and traceability Mentor junior to mid-level engineers and improve firmware development workflows Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 15+ years of architecture and/or firmware development for MCUs/MPUs Deep MCU/MPU SW architecture expertise, including RTL bring-up, driver design, and platform integration Experience with RTL simulation and emulation; understanding of SOC construction and verification environments Ability to lead by influence across cross-functional teams Experience leveraging AI to accelerate software development and documentation Proficiency with ARM subsystems, tools, and debugging Experience with embedded RTOS and compilers Strong low-level software testing and debugging for MCUs/MPUs Ability to work in multi-site, multi-time-zone environments Proficiency in C/C++, Assembly, and at least one scripting language Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Prior technical leadership experience is highly desirable #J-*****-Ljbffr
