Schedule:
Tempo parziale services performed in accordance with the published worship schedule. The Priest will celebrate Sunday Mass, Holy Day services, Sacrament of Reconciliation, Baptisms, Matrimony, Emergency Anointing of the Sick, First Holy Communion, Confirmation support, and other required Catholic ministry services throughout the contract period.
Summary:
The Catholic Priest is responsible for providing comprehensive Roman Catholic liturgical and sacramental ministry in support of the U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) Italy Vicenza Military Community. Services include celebrating Mass, administering the Sacraments, providing pastoral care, supporting religious education, and coordinating with the Religious Support Office (RSO), Government Catholic Priest, Chaplains, Religious Affairs Specialists, and designated Government personnel. The Priest will perform all ministry in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM), and the requirements of the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS).
Requirements:
Ordained Priest of the Roman Catholic Church.
Active ecclesiastical endorsement from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS).
Faculties accepted or granted by the AMS Archbishop.
Ability to celebrate Catholic Mass and administer the Sacraments in accordance with the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM).
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Religious Support Office (RSO), Chaplains, Religious Affairs Specialists, Parish Council, and Government representatives.
Ability to obtain and maintain installation access and successfully complete all required background checks.
Ability to complete required Army training, including Anti-Terrorism (AT), OPSEC, iWATCH, and Threat Awareness and Reporting Program (TARP) training, as required under the contract.
Strong organizational, communication, and pastoral care skills.
