IIGM is located at the FPO IRCCS Candiolo Cancer Institute , Candiolo, Turin – Italy. The main goal of the institute is to foster and develop excellence in research and education, with special reference to cancer biology and cancer biomarker discovery. The institute provides high-level scientific education for students and post‑doctoral fellows, and access to state‑of‑the‑art research facilities and international networks.

Gender Equality Plan : diversity is our legacy and our future. Be part of it. At IIGM diversity is an integral part of our culture and identity and for this we have adopted a plan for gender equality (GEP). We promote diversity and inclusion because we recognize that they are a source of strength and competitive advantage.

Position

The Chemical Biology Lab at the Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine (IIGM) is seeking highly motivated candidates at all levels of seniority (pre‑doc, postdoc) to work in high‑content imaging and analysis with a focus on cell‑to‑cell heterogeneity and phenotypic variability in membrane trafficking. The laboratory investigates key aspects of Rab GTPases and their involvement in hereditary genetic diseases. The project aims to generate cellular model of steroid‑resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) disease and perform genotype‑phenotype correlation analysis using molecular and computational tools developed in the lab. By integrating phenotypic mapping with biochemical and genetic information, we seek to elucidate the biological functions of rare genetic variants causing SRNS. The Institute provides state‑of‑the‑art genomics, single‑cell genomics sequencing platforms and high‑content imaging platforms.

Responsibilities

-

- Generate isogenic HK‑2 cell lines harbouring genetic mutations causing SRNS disease.

- Perform immunostaining of Rab GTPase and other proteins involved in intracellular trafficking.

- Perform biochemical experiments on Rab GTPase regulators.

- Conduct image acquisition using automated microscopy systems.

- Perform image data analysis of high‑dimensional dataset.

- Contribute to ongoing research group activities and collaborative projects.

Offered contract : Coordinated and Continuous Collaboration contract (Co.Co.Co.) on a project basis, duration to be defined. Competitive remuneration based on the candidate’s personal qualifications.
