Amie Ninh, Lead of AI Transformation, sits at the intersection of technology adoption and organizational change. Her job is to help Thumbtack transform how we work. Amie brings together technology and the human side of change, helping our company embrace what it actually means to work differently and stay at the forefront of our industry. In this Q&A;, Amie shares what AI transformation looks like from the inside, why powerful AI tools and enablement are essential to lasting transformation, and how her new team, People Labs, is prioritizing and approaching the next phase of this work.

A lot of companies say they are leaning into AI. What does that actually look like at Thumbtack, and what makes our approach different?

Amie: Honestly, some aspects of our rollout look similar to what other companies are doing in relation to broad-based adoption, access to tools,



and learning resources. What makes us different is the “why” behind our approach.

We view AI as an enabler of our strategy and a core part of how we move our mission forward. A company’s AI transformation is only as strong as how much its leaders actually lean in, and our leaders are genuinely committed to AI enablement. Our most senior leaders aren’t just sponsoring our AI strategy from a distance; they’re in the tools themselves, building things in Claude Code, and dedicating real time and energy to rethinking how work gets done. We’ve also been deliberate about empowering our employees to experiment with AI. We are continuously analyzing how AI is being used across teams to learn more about where high-leverage use cases are, and where we can help scale solutions more broadly, but we have yet to put hard limits on spending.
