ph3Mechanical Engineer – Power Distribution Cabinet Design /h3 pbLocation: /b Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy /p pVertiv is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and produce large Power Distribution Cabinets and Power Switching Cabinets for data center applications. The candidate will work on Engineered‑to‑Order (ETO) projects, ensuring manufacturability, schedule, and cost targets while maintaining high quality and safety standards. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liCreate 3‑D models using sheet metal and part modeling functionality in CAD. /li liCreate complex drawings and bills of material for sheet metal, bus bar, and assemblies. /li liWrite, submit, and release Engineering Change Orders for new and released product documentation in CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database using revision control. /li liCollaborate with cross‑functional groups to achieve project goals. /li liInterpret agency design standards (e.g., UL) for products. /li liCreate order lists for prototype units and ensure material is received with Project Managers. /li liWork with ETO Engineering Supervisor on task lists and priorities. /li liInteract with ETO team members to efficiently break down tasks, discuss design ideas, and resolve issues. /li liOccasionally contact outside vendors and suppliers as needed. /li liPossess general knowledge of single and three‑phase power. /li liInterpret schematics with electrical components such as fuses and circuit breakers. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience. /li liAssociate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience.



/li liHigh School Diploma and 15+ years of relevant experience. /li liExcellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills; team‑oriented and able to work in a fast‑paced environment. /li liSolid‑state 3‑D CAD experience is required; proficiency in Solid Edge or Creo with sheet‑metal experience preferred. /li liOracle PLM experience is a plus, with willingness to be trained. /li liSimulation experience (ANSYS, thermal/airflow) is a plus. /li /ul h3Benefits Compensation /h3 pThe anticipated salary range for this role in Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy is between €33,000 and €41,000 gross per year (based on a 40‑hour work week).
