This increased demand stretches the organization which means WFP has to find new approaches and ways of working to ensure we are channeling every available resource to the people we serve. /p pThe Business Innovation Unit (BIU)/UN Advisory Alliance (UNAA) was established in 2015 to manage change and to promote innovation as part of WFP’s Innovation division: /p ul liBIU/UNAA acts as the “management consulting arm” of WFP /li liBIU/UNAA is composed of staff with top-tier management consulting backgrounds as well as UN experience /li /ul pWe execute projects on behalf of Executive Directors, Assistant Secretary Generals, and Directors across the UN system, and have become a trusted advisor to WFP and other entities (e.g. UN Women, UNFPA, UN Secretariat,..). Our focus is on end-to-end solutions, including problem assessment, data analysis, operational model design, change plan and implementation monitoring.
/p h3ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES /h3 ul liExecution of Business Innovation projects /li liManagement of Country Office transformation projects /li liOverall BIU/UNAA leadership team priorities /li liOther activities /li /ul h3DELIVERABLES /h3 ul liWFP/UN System Senior Leadership ul liAdvise senior leadership on prioritization of key organizational initiatives /li liLead cross-functional discussions to align on objectives, activities, timelines and outputs /li liLead and supervise analytical and project management teams /li /ul /li liWFP Country Office Leadership ul liDrive transformation and efficiency exercises for large and mid-sized Country Office Country Directors and Leadership Team /li liLead financial and operational analysis and supervise the project team /li liDerive concrete and actionable recommendations for the CO leadership team /li /ul /li liUN Reform/UN80: Guide UN Reform/UN80 implementation and be part of an inter‑agency project team ul liLead delivery of key interagency UN Reform initiatives (e.g., Business Operations Strategy, Common Back Office, Global Shared Services), engaging with entity and Secretariat stakeholders as required /li liSupervise key data analyses to drive high-priority UN80 work packages (e.g., UNCT reconfiguration, entity merger assessments, etc.) /li liDrive communication efforts on UN Reform/UN80 /li /ul /li liAdditional BIU/UNAA needs ul liSupervise, guide and train 5-10 Business Innovation consultants at a time, acting as supervisor, point of referral and guidance with more complex analysis and queries /li liAs part of the UNAA leadership team, be responsible for driving knowledge management reviews and best practices sharing, hiring, developing and retaining members of the UNAA team /li liActively source and contract new Business Innovation projects and drive business development activities; support additional projects based on pipeline and new projects contracted during time of contract, as required /li /ul /li /ul h3QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED /h3 h3Education /h3 pPreference for a degree in business, economics or engineering /p h3Experience /h3 pAbout 10 years of progressively responsible national and/or international experience in a business or international relations related position. At least 10 years experience in change management, management consulting or finance required. Additional work experience desirable. /p h3Knowledge Skills /h3 ul liAbility to contribute to developing new strategies and innovative projects /li liGood analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative: ability to perform advanced analysis in excel and produce high-quality written materials, including powerpoint presentations as well as text documents; /li liExperience with optimization processes (e.g. optimization of strategic planning, sourcing, logistics, finance processes, performance management, etc.) /li liCollaborative spirit to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures, with credibility and diplomacy; /li liTime management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles, and an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully,
