/p h3Role Overview /h3 pThe Lead VDC Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing digital construction processes, primarily leveraging BIM (Building Information Modelling), to support project delivery.
This leadership role coordinates multidisciplinary design teams, ensures model integration, and drives innovation across construction projects.
/p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liVDC / BIM Leadership: lead the implementation of VDC/BIM strategies across projects.
/li liDevelop and enforce BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
/li liSet project standards for modelling, coordination,
and digital delivery.
/li liMentor and manage junior VDC coordinators and BIM technicians.
/li liModel Coordination Clash Detection: oversee federated model development across disciplines (Architectural, Structural, MEP), conduct clash detection using tools like Navisworks, Revizto, or Solibri, chair coordination meetings and track issue resolution, ensure models are aligned with project timelines and deliverables.
/li liStakeholder Collaboration: collaborate with design consultants, contractors and subcontractors, project managers and site teams, act as primary point of contact for all BIM?related queries.
/li liDigital Construction Innovation: promote adoption of digital tools (e.g., drones, 4D/5D simulation, digital twins), support construction sequencing (4D scheduling), assist quantity take?offs (5D BIM), evaluate and integrate new technologies.
/li liQuality Assurance Data Management: ensure models comply with company and client BIM standards, maintain Common Data Environment (CDE) (e.g., BIM 360, ACC, ProjectWise), perform model audits and QA checks, manage version control and data integrity.
/li liReporting Analysis: track BIM KPIs and project performance metrics, provide regular reports to project leadership, highlight risks and opportunities related to digital delivery.
/li /ul h3Required Skills Competencies Technical Skills /h3 ul liAdvanced knowledge of: ul liAutodesk Revit /li liNavisworks / Solibri /li liBIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud /li /ul /li liStrong understanding of: ul liISO ***** standards /li liBIM workflows and coordination processes /li /ul /li liExperience with 4D/5D tools (Synchro, CostX, etc.) is a plus.
/li liFamiliarity with scripting (Dynamo, Python) beneficial.
/li /ul h3Leadership Soft Skills /h3 ul liStrong leadership and mentoring ability.
/li liExcellent communication and stakeholder management.
/li liProblem?solving and analytical thinking.
/li liAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
/li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liDegree in Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Structural, MEP), Architecture or related discipline.
/li liBIM/VDC certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) preferred.
/li /ul h3Experience /h3 ul liTypically 7–12+ years in construction/design.
/li liAt least 3–5 years in BIM/VDC leadership roles.
/li liProven experience delivering large?scale projects (commercial, residential, infrastructure).
