Role Snapshot
You'll own the electronics architecture and hardware development for robotic payloads, taking systems from initial concept through prototyping, testing, qualification, and spacecraft integration.
Your work will contribute to anin-orbit technology demonstration planned for ****and help turn early-stage engineering concepts into reliable, flight-ready systems.
The role is based primarilyon site in Pisa, Italy, with occasional hybrid work possible.
Key Responsibilities
Define and own theelectronics architecturefor robotic payloads, from concept to flight-like implementation
Designschematics and multilayer PCBs, prototype, and validate through bring-up, bench testing, and iteration
Developpower electronics and analog signal conditioningwith a focus on reliability, noise performance, and safety
Selectspace-suitable components, document derating and reliability rationale,
and plan for procurement and obsolescence
Leadintegration with spacecraft systems, interfaces, and GSE, coordinating with external partners as needed
Plan, execute, and documentverification and validation, including environmental testing readiness and compliance to relevant standards
What You Bring
Technical Toolkit
PCB design and EDA tools, Altium Designeror similar
Power electronics, converters, protection, derating
Analog signal conditioning, filtering, grounding, EMC practices
Component selectionfor space or harsh environments
Modeling and analysis tools, Matlab Simulink
Professional Experience
Deliver electronics from architecture throughprototype, test, and xysqume iteration,2+ years including academic research
Collaborate withmechanical, software, and automationteams to achieve system integration
Producerigorous documentation, test plans, and traceability aligned to mission requirements
Communicate clearly withexternal stakeholdersfor interfaces, test campaigns, and reviews
Nice to have
Space electronicsbackground, radiation and environmental considerations,ECSSfamiliarity
Robotics or automation experience inextreme environments
