Investment Banking – M&A; Analyst Intern
Azimut Corporate Finance SpA - Milano
Your Role
As an M&A; Analyst Intern, you will join the deal execution team and work directly alongside senior bankers and analysts on active transactions and strategic advisory assignments.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical exposure to the full lifecycle of M&A; processes — from initial client discussions and strategic analysis through execution and closing — within an entrepreneurial platform where responsibility is given early.
You will be expected to contribute from day one through rigorous analysis, high attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
Job Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting execution of live M&A; and strategic advisory assignments
- Performing company and industry research to identify strategic opportunities, potential targets, and prospective buyers
- Preparing pitchbooks, teasers, information memoranda and other client materials
- Building and maintaining financial models, including valuation analyses (DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions, LBO)
- Analysing financial statements, market data, and transaction benchmarks
- Monitoring industry trends, market developments, and relevant transaction activity
- Assisting senior team members in preparing strategic discussions with clients and investors
- Coordinating workstreams with internal teams and external advisers (legal, tax, accounting and technical consultants)
Required Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for highly motivated candidates who combine strong analytical capability with intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in investment banking.
Required qualifications
- Previous internship experience (minimum 3 months preferred) in investment banking, M&A; advisory, private equity, Big Four transaction services, or related corporate finance environments
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and valuation methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and spoken English and fluency in Italian
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail
