Offer Description
At oil extraction sites, in steel industry settlements, and in cement plants, emissions of substances that are toxic to human and animal health are continuously monitored, allowing for the tracking of environmental pollution produced by industrial activity relative to threshold values of pollutants considered non-toxic. Although this approach is formally correct, it is not always a reliable method to correlate the pollution produced with harm to human and animal health. In fact,



the toxicity of pollutants on biological systems can vary both qualitatively and quantitatively depending on the substances present in the sample containing the toxic substance. In this project, we propose to evaluate the toxicity of individual pollutants (heavy metals, aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated compounds, toxic gases) and mixtures, in vitro, on various cell lines of liver, nervous system, lung, and gastric.
