Position SummaryThe Front Office Supervisor oversees all front desk operations for a busy general surgery practice in Boulder, Colorado. This role ensures excellent patient service, efficient scheduling, and administrative accuracy. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), experienced in surgical scheduling, and highly skilled in managing accurate provider schedules. Familiarity with Athenahealth is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support front desk team in daily operations including patient check- in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and phone triage
- Ensure provider schedules are accurate and up to date, including adjustments for surgeries, time off, and overbooking policies
- Coordinate surgical scheduling, including pre-operative testing, imaging, authorizations,



and post-operative follow-up
- Train and coach front desk staff on proper use of practice workflows and policies
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain referrals and prior authorizations, and support patients in understanding coverage
- Oversee collection and posting of co-pays and balances; ensure accuracy in financial transactions
- Serve as the first point of contact for patient concerns or service recovery
- Monitor and report on front office performance metrics, including schedule utilization and no-show rates
- Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations and patient satisfaction
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and enforce all office protocols
- Coordinate front desk staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage at all times
