We're looking for a Research Engineer with at least 3 years of experience and a background in Mathematical Engineering (or a closely related field) to join our team. The role focuses on the development, validation, and optimisation of mathematically complex algorithms, ensuring numerical correctness and high-performance implementation across our software stack.

The role combines software and algorithms development, giving you the opportunity to work across R&D; and software infrastructure.

You will develop, review,



and optimise mathematically complex algorithms that power our space awareness platform, ensuring both numerical correctness and production-grade performance. You will work closely with space engineers to improve computational efficiency, and software engineers to streamline data processing pipelines, and provide expert technical review of algorithmic implementations.

Implementing complex mathematical models and algorithms (e.g. interpolators, covariance generation, Kalman filter)

Reviewing the numerical implementations by space engineers across multiple projects and algorithms

Data structuring (e.g. pre-building datasets) and working on data quality and preprocessing

Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Engineering, Computer Science with a strong mathematical background, or closely related field

Proven software experience in shipping code to production (1-2 years minimum)

Python proficiency

Experience with algorithm optimisation
