Role Description This full-time Night Auditor role at Mercure Hotels is an on-site position based in Bergamo. The Night Auditor oversees the front desk during night hours, welcoming guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, and addressing guest inquiries and requests. The role includes processing reservations, verifying room rates, and ensuring accurate posting of charges to guest accounts. The Night Auditor completes daily revenue and occupancy reports, reconciles cash and card transactions, and prepares end-of-day financial summaries. Additional responsibilities include monitoring lobby and entrance areas for safety, coordinating with other hotel departments when needed, and maintaining a calm, professional atmosphere throughout the night shift.
Qualifications
- Strong front desk and receptionist duties skills, including check-in/check-out procedures and guest registration.
- Experience handling reservations, room allocations, and booking modifications accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to interact clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
- Proven customer service skills, with the ability to resolve issues and provide a welcoming guest experience.
- Reliable cash handling skills, including balancing tills, processing payments, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Comfort working overnight shifts and maintaining attention to detail during late hours.
- Basic competency with hotel property management systems and standard office software.
- Previous experience in hospitality or front office operations is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks as part of daily duties.
- Fluency in Italian and good command of English; additional languages are an asset.
