In this role, you will lead a team of civil engineers, providing expert analysis, advice, and support to ensure our projects and operations are technically sound, compliant, and fit for purpose.
You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain civil engineering standards and lead assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle, including as Discipline Lead for Civil Engineering on the development of the new Wyaralong Water Treatment Plant. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead the civil engineering project support area to provide expert civil engineering support including engineering analysis, advice, problem solving, verification and troubleshooting services to support the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Seqwater’s bulk water supply infrastructure to ensure it is robust, technically sound, compliant with relevant legislative and engineering requirements, and fit for purpose. /li liLead, manage and contribute to the development and maintenance of fit for purpose and cost‑effective civil engineering standards, specifications, procedures and guidelines for internal and external use in consultation with other teams within the Infrastructure Planning and Capital Delivery Group. /li liProvide RPEQ Subject Matter Expert services in civil engineering with specific emphasis on risk, life cycle cost, risk reduction, constructability and operability to review, recommend and/or endorse engineering decisions. /li liProvide engineering sign‑off as responsible RPEQ for: /li /ul ul liDevelopment and revision of relevant Seqwater Standards /li liDeviation requests for departures from relevant Seqwater Standards /li liConcept or detailed design reviews, Safety in Design / Technical Hazard Studies such as HAZID, CHAIR /li liVerification and acceptance of stages for projects,
Management of Change (Technical) reviews in operations and maintenance /li /ul h3About You /h3 pTo be successful in this role, you will possess: /p ul liTertiary degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline suitable for registration as an RPEQ (minimum 4‑year Washington Accord accredited degree, or equivalent as assessed by Engineers Australia). /li liCurrent active RPEQ registration in a discipline relevant to the position OR demonstrated ability to obtain RPEQ registration in a discipline relevant to the position within 6 months of appointment. (E.g. existing assessment recognised by BPEQ such as CPEng, NER, RPEng; or registration in a jurisdiction advertised by BPEQ as eligible for mutual recognition). /li liNational or international recognition as an authority in civil engineering (e.g. CPEng or FIE Aust). /li liSignificant experience leading engineering teams as a Principal, Lead or Senior Engineer with demonstrated success in providing expert civil engineering expertise, support and decision making for large infrastructure projects. /li liExpert knowledge with significant experience in civil engineering with demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of large infrastructure projects and bulk water supply infrastructure. /li liAlignment with Seqwater values /li /ul pThis position has a salary range of $149,648 – $162,324 dependent on experience plus 12.75% Super and is a permanent fulltime position. /p pAppointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements.
