Offer Description Within the FURIOUS project, furan-based formulations have already been studied on a small scale, and the most promising ones have been selected for the different intended applications. In this context, the present project aims to re-synthesize, on a large scale,



the formulations selected for the various sectors and to develop sustainable end-of-life strategies. With regard to the automotive sector, reuse and chemical recycling solutions will be evaluated. In the packaging sector, an enzymatic recycling solution will be implemented, involving the enzymatic degradation of the polymer with recovery of the constituent monomers, re-synthesis of the polymer, and its characterization to assess its possible reuse. The characterization will include the evaluation of molecular, thermal, mechanical, and barrier properties. xrdztoy The results obtained will be compared with those of the virgin polymers to verify the actual success of the adopted procedure.
